1. How would you describe yourself as an artist?

I consider myself an artist without any specific direction. Some days, I find inspiration in people and emotions, while on others, it might be something as simple as the light on a tree. But what ties it all together is that it deeply touches me.

2. What inspires your work?

The beauty of nature is what inspires me. It may sound like a bit of a cliché, but it’s the truth. Nature is something that recharges me and helps me forget about everything else. While I prefer to paint portraits in my studio, alone and with music, I like to paint landscapes in the moment, while I’m outside. It helps me remember the moment.

3. Tell us about your journey to where you are now?

People often ask me when I started painting, and I usually tell them that it’s better to ask why I ever stopped. I’ve always loved to paint, but I began my career in fashion design and worked in the design industry for a long time.

While it was certainly an interesting job, it meant spending eight hours a day, five days a week in an office. About four years ago, I decided to quit my job and find myself. I didn’t have any specific goal to become an artist; I just started doing what I liked. I painted a lot and as a result, got better at it, and even wrote a book and built an art school in Germany.

Now, I travel a lot, give workshops, and have many interesting events happening in my life. I meet a lot of new people and get inspiration from my experiences. I’m pretty happy where I am right now and excited to see what comes next.

4. What were you most looking forward to whilst visiting the island?

Visiting a tropical island has always been on my bucket list, and I can see why so many people want to go there. The crystal-clear water, the turquoise colour, the white sand, and the palm trees… It’s like paradise. When you’re surrounded by a landscape like this, it’s impossible to worry about anything.

5. What intrigued you about Constance Hotels & Resorts?

When I saw the collaboration offers, I approached everything with caution. I’m not the kind of person who would just drop everything and go somewhere new. But the more I looked into the hotels and concepts, the more I wanted to go.

I don’t really like big hotels, to be honest. They always seem so crowded, and I prefer my privacy. I love beaches like this one, where it feels like it’s just me. But I had a feeling that this trip would be very personalised and that I’d really enjoy it.
