As part of the #ConstanceArtLove campaign, renowned Italian artist Emanuele Dascanio was invited to Constance Tsarabanjina, our secluded and idyllic resort located on a private island in Madagascar.
Follow Emanuele’s journey as he drew inspiration from the unspoiled natural beauty of the island and the warm hospitality of Constance Hotels & Resorts to create an exquisite masterpiece.
1. How would you describe yourself as an artist, Emanuele?
As an artist, I would describe myself as a Renaissance scholar of sorts, constantly engaged in the study and research of various forms of art. I have a deep passion for beauty and an unwavering commitment to extreme quality in all of my creations.
My approach to art is both creative and pragmatic. While I am constantly exploring new techniques and mediums, I also appreciate and utilise the old masters’ techniques.
2. What inspires your work?
As an artist, I am endlessly inspired by the natural world and the intricate interactions and relationships between all living things. From the tiniest details to the grandest patterns, nature offers an infinite source of beauty and complexity that never ceases to amaze me.
The sublime beauty of nature is something that I strive to capture in my work. Whether through the curves of a tree branch or the sweeping lines of a mountain range or the skin texture. I am constantly searching for new ways to convey the majesty and wonder of the natural world.
At the same time, I am fascinated by the interplay between simplicity and complexity in nature. The delicate balance of ecosystems. The intricate webs of relationships between species. The complex networks of patterns and processes that govern the natural world are all endlessly fascinating to me.
3. Tell us about your journey to where you are now Emanuele?
As an artist, my journey has been one of constant reinvention, obeying the flow of the ever-changing world around me, and taking leaps into new paradigms of thought and creation.
But through it all, one thing has remained constant: the thrill of the leap. Whether I am taking a risk on a new artistic medium or exploring a radically different way of thinking about my work.
So as I continue on this journey, I remain committed to obeying the flow of the universe. I am embracing change and constantly pushing myself out of my comfort zone. For it is only through these leaps of faith that I can truly discover who I am as an artist and the unique contribution I have to offer to the world.
4. What were you most looking forward to whilst visiting the island?
As an artist, I must say that I was incredibly excited about visiting this island! There are so many things that I was looking forward to experiencing. From the stunning new colours, to the relaxing atmosphere of this magical place.
One of the things that I was most eager to see is the air that surrounds the island. I could only imagine how refreshing it must be to breathe in the pure, clean air of this natural wonderland. And speaking of natural wonders, I could not wait to see the fresh sky that stretches out above me, with its endless expanse of blue and white.
I am naturally drawn to the beauty of nature, and was eager to see the tiny turtles that call this island home. I have always been fascinated by these small creatures, and I knew that seeing them in their natural habitat will be a truly unforgettable experience.
Of course, the island is also home to some of the largest creatures on the planet. I was excited to see the big whales that swim in the surrounding waters. Their majesty and power are truly awe-inspiring, and I knew that seeing them up close will be an unforgettable experience.
But it’s not just the wildlife that I was excited to see. I was also eager to experience the wild nature of the island, with its lush forests and rugged landscapes. And as someone who loves to travel and explore new places, I was looking forward to immersing myself in a different culture and meeting new people.
I knew that this trip will be one of the most memorable and inspiring experiences of my life.
5. What intrigued you about Constance Hotels & Resorts?
What intrigued me about Constance Hotels & Resorts is their innovative concept of combining luxury with humanity and charity.
Their commitment to social responsibility is evident in their various charitable initiatives, such as supporting local communities and conservation efforts. And yet, despite their focus on giving back, they still manage to maintain an air of luxury and exclusivity that appeals to the wealthy and discerning traveler.
