Which Constance Hotels & Resorts did you visit?
“We were lucky enough to stay at four resorts across both Mauritius and the Maldives. In Mauritius, we had the pleasure to experience Constance Belle Mare Plage and Constance Prince Maurice, while in the Maldives we flew between both Constance Moofushi and Constance Halaveli. Overall all four were incredible.”
What was the highlight of your visit?
“The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the exceptional Constance team. Their unwavering commitment to hospitality and passion for creating a luxurious experience made our stay truly special. From groundskeepers to general managers, absolutely everyone embodies the Constance values of true Indian Ocean specialists; generosity, excellence and respect.
“Anything you could think of to make your experience that much better, the Constance team would have discreetly done to make every part of your holiday have a feeling of luxury, be it organising your luggage to expertly crafted bed top art. Overall, the standout element was the genuine enthusiasm and love for their work displayed by the Constance team, making every moment memorable.”
What surprised you the most about Mauritius?
“What really caught us off guard about Mauritius was its incredible scenery. When you land you might think it’s all flat, but no, there are huge volcanic stacks that pop up out of nowhere.
“And the colours are just something else – so vibrant, they just paint the sky and make the island beautiful. Mauritius isn’t just about the beaches; it’s a whole mix of modern cities, stunning mountains and vibrant reefs. Everywhere you look, there’s something visually incredible.”
How was Constance Belle Mare Plage compared to Constance Moofushi? What were the differences?
“We wouldn’t even attempt to compare Constance Belle Mare Plage to Constance Moofushi – they’re completely unique. Mauritius and the Maldives are worlds apart, and the resorts reflect that.
In the Maldives, it’s a barefoot experience from the moment you step off the seaplane. Whilst Mauritius is crafted using a mixture of sand, tile and hardwood.
“The only common ground lies in the values, and the incredible people. It is unequivocally clear that Constance doesn’t just replicate the same formula in different locations. They thoughtfully design each resort to harmonise with its location.”
How was the transfer to the Maldives? Did you take a seaplane or boat?
“We took both seaplane and boat to arrive at resorts and overall our transfers were flawless. Every aspect of our transfers screamed luxury; the taxi, baggage handling and flights were expertly coordinated so all we had to do was sit back and enjoy the opulence of the seaplane lounge.”
What were the types of accommodation you stayed at in each resort?
“At both Constance Belle Mare Plage and Constance Prince Maurice, we stayed in a beachfront Junior Suite. Constance Halaveli‘s Family Water Villa had all the amenities you could ever need and lots of perfectly crafted space. However, Constance Moofushi was our personal favourite. Staying in a Senior Water Villa, we spent most mornings watching rays and reef sharks pass by.”
How was the overall experience at the resorts in terms of service and amenities?
“The overall experience at Constance Hotels & Resorts was exceptional. The staff’s unwavering commitment to hospitality and passion for creating a luxurious experience made our stay truly special.”
What types of activities did you get stuck into?
“Golf on the Legends course at Constance Belle Mare Plage was breathtaking – one of the most beautiful courses we have ever seen.
“We also enjoyed a relaxing spa experience at both Constance Moofushi and Constance Belle Mare Plage which was next level. Below each massage table was a glass panel meaning we could watch fish as the expert masseurs pampered us with tailored treatments.
“Finally, we indulged in a night of wine tasting with expert sommeliers, which was a treat! Offering the largest collection of wine in the Indian Ocean the selection was vast to say the least. And as an added bit of attention to detail, the Constance staff continued to bring our preferred wine throughout the trip.”
Did you have the chance to explore the underwater marine life through activities like snorkelling?
“Snorkelling was beyond words; Constance Moofushi has some of the best reefs in the Maldives. The water team were kind, accommodating, and highly skilled. The sheer beauty of the marine moved Jaime to tears. Also, a nice added touch was they provided us with our own personal snorkelling gear to use throughout our whole trip.”
What was the food like at each resort?
“The food at each resort was extremely delicious, offering a vast selection across multiple restaurants.
“The sommeliers in the speciality restaurants paired the perfect wine with each and every meal. Whether it was buffet style or fine dining, every meal was mouth-wateringly good.
“Also there was always such an amazing selection catering to many nationalities.”
What were some essential items you’d recommend to pack for each location?
“When booking a trip with Constance, you’ll find they can cater for almost everything, but some absolute essentials to pack include extra strength sunscreen to beat the heat. Your phone captures the beautiful scenery. And if you’re planning to keep active, bring some diving gear for the Maldives and some golfing gear for Mauritius.”
How have you found the whole experience? Would you visit again?
“The overall experience was nothing but positive, providing a sense of calmness, relaxation, and freedom.
“It felt like our own slice of paradise that we would love to experience again. Constance offered a cocoon of luxury, relaxation, and escapism, allowing us to forget about the outside world and immerse in a truly luxurious and restful holiday.”
What was your ‘My Constance Moment’?
“Our arrival at Constance Moofushi is a moment we’ll remember forever. Sweeping across the Indian Ocean in the sea plane, we could see the team on the jetty, waving to us as we landed. This warm welcome extended to every touchpoint of our holiday. We particularly loved how we were encouraged to take our shoes off on arrival and feel the sand between our toes. The team kindly put our discarded shoes in our room but we didn’t put them back on until the day we sadly had to leave Moofushi and as the sign says on the jetty, “back to reality”.
“And the arrival at our senior water villa, opening the doors and walking out onto our private terrace to breathtaking views will be forever in our minds and hearts. Walking down the steps into the ocean with a reef shark swimming by and a group of rays playing around us was unforgettable. It felt like our very own desert island where we could disconnect from reality and relax.”
