Luxury luggage 2015: Wilkens W1 Carry-on Suitcase

1.Wilkens W1 Carry-on Suitcase

This classic-looking handcrafted suitcase of leather, brass and rich woods was designed by Barcelona-based Mauro Bianucci. Hidden beneath the classic design and artisan crafting, however, is a bang-up-to-date carbon fibre case with wheels and telescopic handle. Go online and configure your own design from a selection of different coloured leathers (all tanned in Italy), a choice of ebony or mahogany and brass or nickel mouldings. Once you’ve finished brand it with a logo of your own initials.

2. Dolce & Gabbana Textured-leather travel trolley

Celebrate the return of spring with this light pink and pastel green suitcase from Dolce & Gabbana. Made from calf leather with handles on top and at the side it includes a padlock and leather luggage tag and contains plenty of zipped compartments inside to protect shoes, jewellery, lingerie and more.

3. The Overnighter from Paul Magi

A clever, stylish combination of laptop case and overnight bag, the leather and canvas Overnighter has separate compartments for laptop and clothes plus compartments for extras like shoes and books. With handles and a padded shoulder strap the Overnighter is made from luxury materials including Italian leather and British cotton canvas with Superlampos Italian zips.

4. Trunkster

Not only is the design of the funky new Trunkster getting both travel journalists and travellers equally excited but the way it was created is innovative too, funded as it was by a hugely popular crowdfunding campaign. With a new roll-top, zipless case opening system it is easy to access your belongings anytime. The Trunkster also has a built-in digital scale to avoid last minute charges, a battery with USB port so you can charge your phone on the go and, as you would expect from the next generation of suitcase, built in GPS!

5. Bottega Veneta’s classic Cabat bag

Tomas Maier’s classic woven leather Cabat bag now comes in a large ‘beach bag’ size making it the perfect holiday bag. Whether styling at the airport or carrying towel, books, ipods etc down to the beach, there is no more stylish way to travel for Spring/Summer 2015.

6. Aspinal’s Marylebone iPad Case with crossbody strap

It may look like a stylish handbag but this is actually a neat, secure way to carry your iPad around while on holiday. Made from Italian nappa calf leather, the iPad case comes in a range of spring colours but we think there’s a special hint of St Tropez about the gold.
