Colin Montgomerie continued his assault on the European Senior Tour record books with yet another win in the Russian Open Golf Championship (Senior).
The win at the Moscow Country Club marks the Scotsman’s fourth in just five outings this season.
‘I have had a lot of good runs of form over the years but I think this is right up there with the best of them,’ Montgomerie told interviewers.
Having started the final day two shots behind, seasoned golfer Montgomerie, finished on 14 under par to take the championship, three shots ahead of Canadian Rick Gibson.
The win secures Montgomerie’s place at the head of the order of merit which will be awarded at the MCB Tour Championship in Constance Belle Mare Plage, Mauritius in December.
