If you’ve always dreamt of an Indian Ocean beach wedding here are our five top tips to making that dream become a truly memorable reality.
Look beyond beautiful brochure photos
When you’re picking the site for your destination wedding don’t get swept away by photos of couples holding hands on white sand beaches. Remember this is not just your wedding but your honeymoon too so whether you love scuba diving, fine dining, waterskiing, tennis or guided nature trails, make sure there’s plenty else on offer to make this the holiday of a lifetime.
Find out exactly what’s included in the wedding package
Some wedding packages will only cover a location fee with everything else from flowers to photographers charged as extra. At Constance we offer a wedding package including everything from a personal wedding planner to a pre-wedding stress-relieving massage. If you decide you do want to splash out on some extras like a sunset cruise, a romantic meal in a secluded location or a sensual couple’s massage at our spa, then you can book them before you come. Better still, why not ask for them as a wedding gift from friends and family?
Make sure you get enough photos
At Constance as part of the wedding package we offer an hour with a photographer to capture those special moments but many guests prefer to extend that time to make sure they get a full record of their big day. Videographers are also available to film your first moments together as a married couple.
Consider the climate when selecting your look for the big day
It’s hard to imagine the heat and humidity of a tropical island while you’re dress shopping back home but you need to bear it in mind. Beach-chic bridal wear is bang on trend this year so the perfect dress won’t be hard to find and for men light linen or cotton suits are a good option. Hair and make-up can both behave differently in warmer climates so why not book in for a consultation with one of our resort stylists before the big day to try out some different looks?
Arrive a few days before the wedding
Give yourself a chance to recover from the flight and settle in before the big day. You will have spoken to your personal wedding planner before you arrive but this could give you a chance to go over all the details. The day before the wedding we suggest you do nothing but relax, spend the day with your partner and give yourself time to get mentally prepared for the exciting journey you are about to embark on.
