World class footballer in world class luxury at Le Prince Maurice

Legendary French footballer Robert Pirès explains why he loves Constance Le Prince Maurice so much that he keeps coming back.

Former captain of France and player for Arsenal Robert Pirès knows a thing or two about what it takes to be the best, and that is exactly what he is looking for in a holiday.

‘For me luxury is a hotel like Prince Maurice where I can do nothing and relax 100% knowing that the attentive staff will look after everything.’

So how does the man who captained the French International team to its win in the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000, and enjoyed two Premier League wins during his time with Arsenal choose to spend his holiday?

‘I do nothing but relax and enjoy the service. Time stops for us when we are at this place – we simply chill out and enjoy the beautiful weather. I spend most of my time at the beach or at the pool.’

How Pirès discovered Le Prince

Pirès, now a sports commentator and broadcaster, discovered Constance Le Prince Maurice through his partner Jessica Lemarie who had done a modelling shoot at the resort years earlier.

‘She had always spoken about this hotel and wanted us to come for holidays but at the time, both of us being very busy in our professions, we never made it. Once we settled with a family we finally decided to come. As soon as we arrived we fell in love with the hotel and now we are on our third visit in one year.’

What Pirès loves about the hotel

Asked to describe what it is about the resort which keeps drawing him and his family back, Pirès explains, ‘Mauritius is well known for the kindness of its people and we feel it as we arrive at the hotel with the staff being very friendly with a natural warmth. The welcome here is exceptional and the staff charmant.’

The footballer and father says he loves the fact that at Le Prince Maurice he can relax knowing his kids are having fun and are being well taken care of. ‘My children have just as great a time here as I do, they enjoy Les Petits Princes kids club and my babysitter looks after Alessio (the baby) as if it was her own child. My children being in such good hands helps us to relax.’

Pirès describes that he likes to spend the summer in Europe and to visit St Barthelemy in the Caribbean but says, ‘In the winter time we fly to Mauritius, Le Prince Maurice, of course. Our fourth visit to the hotel won’t be far away.’
