The Interview: A Warm Welcome at Moofushi

This personalised service sets us apart, and at the heart of this is the personal touch that all our staff give to ensure guests receive the warmest of welcomes and enjoy a tailor made holiday with Constance.

At Constance Moofushi in the Maldives, Azu is well known to guests. Currently Assistant Front Office Manager, she shares her story with us.

What is your role at Constance?

My first role in Constance was as restaurant hostess in 2011 at Constance Moofushi. After completing almost one year I moved to Front Office as a Guest Service Assistant gradually promoted to supervisor and my current position is as Assistant Front Office Manager.

What do you most enjoy about your role?

What I most enjoy is the opportunity and challenges in everyday operations and interacting with different people from all over the world, learning opportunities and sharing my knowledge.

How do you feel Constance goes that extra mile that perhaps other hotels do not?

The best thing about Constance is they genuinely care for the guests and the staff. I think the great service and the personalised experience we provide to guests here makes the difference.

How do you help new guests feel at ease when they arrive?

I give them a warm welcome by greeting them with their names and anticipating their needs, knowing what they want. We run a personalised check-in service, as most of our guests come from different countries and arriving in the Maldives they are usually tired after long flights. So we give them the option of going straight to the Villa or offering them a tour of the island at a time convenient for them once they have freshened up and rested a bit.

What do guests love about Constance?

Lots of things … they tell us it’s great service time and time again, the friendly team, beautiful settings, the unique design of the resorts, extensive selection of wines, the food and the spa.

What’s the key to performing your role well?

To be able to perform, I have the support of the team at front office, we leverage on each other’s strengths and work as a team. Also the management supports and provides me with directions when required.

How do you enjoy your time outside your role?

When I’m not working, I like going fishing, watching movies, dancing in Boduberu performance in Maldivian nights, and the outings with front office team are great fun.
