Indulge at Constance Halaveli, Maldives

Swedish massage

This classic European whole-body massage is what most people are generally thinking about when they hear the word ‘massage’. The techniques include kneading, pressure and long gliding strokes using the palms, thumbs and fingertips, with the aim of relaxing muscles and ridding the body of tension and stress. A session normally lasts between 30-60 minutes and focuses on all of the body’s major muscle groups.

Thai-Shiatsu massage

This no oil, clothed treatment combines elements of Thai and Shiatsu massage therapy, using acupressure and passive stretching of muscles, tendons and ligaments to rebalance energy, increase flexibility and relieve tension. Wearing loose fitting clothing, the session takes place on a floor mat and is tailored to your specific needs.

Ayurvedic massage

Ayurvedic medicine is a holistic Indian system that seeks to treat the person as a single entity: mind, body and spirit. Using a warmed herb-infused essential oil, this deeply relaxing and ancient massage technique uses tapping, squeezing, kneading and more traditional hand strokes to aid circulation and bring balance to the energy centres.

Sports massage

Let yourself fully relax at Constance Belle Mare Plage

A sports massage is a deep and invigorating treatment, after which the participant normally feels an instantaneous benefit. Designed as a preventative treatment as well as to help people recover from sporting injuries, the technique is geared towards athletes of all kinds from the occasional jogger to the record-breaking professional. Treatments vary depending on your issue, so your session may involve ‘standard’ massage techniques; the isolation of a specific muscle to break down tension, or stretching at various intensities to restore range of movement.

Balinese massage

Balinese massage therapy is a traditional deep tissue technique which involves manipulating pressure points along the body’s twelve Meridian Lines, relating to different functions of the body. A firm and intense treatment, your session will be tailored to specific issues like poor circulation, stress or lethargy. Expect a combination of stretching, massage and trigger point response techniques to alleviate muscular tension in the body’s soft tissue.
