As a frequent traveller I love unspoiled places where you get a taste of seclusion and sheer beauty.

The Maldives were always number one on my must-go travel list. This gorgeous country is, by most estimations, the closest you get to paradise on earth and the ideal choice for lovebirds.

In March my boyfriend and I visited the Indian Ocean jewel and discovered it for ourselves. I can easily say that for experiencing that feeling of going back to nature, indulging in sun drenched days and star studded nights, the Maldives is where it’s at.

The journey by seaplane to this barefoot idyll is a pleasure for the eye – breathtaking views of the azure blue sea, sandy little islands surrounded by turquoise reefs and glorious skies.

For a dive junkie, this laid-back yet luxurious resort is a paradise, and considered one of the best dive spots in the South Ari Atoll. And you can see why when you catch your first glimpse of the spectacular soft coral reefs and the giant mantas gliding by.

As you would expect, the accommodation is as spectacular as the location. A quarter of the 110 thatched villas are on the beach, while the water villas and senior water villas are on two jetties, each with a stairway down to the azure lagoon and a private deck.

At Moofushi they capture the best tropical ambiance, the beauty of the location, and the exotic flavours of the Maldives.

And they’ve rewritten the rule book on all-inclusives. Opt for the Crystal Package and you get all meals at Manta Restaurant, drinks (yes, as much cocktails and wine as you want!), mini bar, and more.

What else is there to do…

Reach the perfect state of well being and deep relaxation at Le Spa Constance, and for yoga try a lesson from yogi Manish. Check out the water sport centre for surfing, kayaking or sailing. Meanwhile, back on dry land you can siesta on hammocks, chill by the pool or just soak up the sun… Atoll life is good.
