Looking back over his 11-year Senior Tour career, Kevin Spurgeon says the Legend course at Constance Belle Mare Plage is the best, ‘in my eyes’.
In an interview with the Bournemouth Daily Echo, Spurgeon announced he will be retiring from the Tour this year and hopes to end his touring career at the European Senior Tour MCB Championship at Belle Mare Plage on the 11-13 December.
Legend Golf Course holds fond memories for Spurgeon as it was on the idyllic Mauritian course back in 2009 that he won the inaugural Mauritius Commercial Bank Open. In fact, he describes his chip to the last green during that tournament as his favourite shot of his career.
On returning to Constance Belle Mare Plage this December, Spurgeon told the Daily Echo, ‘They have looked after me ever since I won there so it’s not a bad place to finish my time on tour. When people ask me what my favourite golf course is, I always say the Legend Golf Course in Mauritius.’
