When Wearing it Today (WIT) stylist Laura Fantacci found herself craving a winter sun escape with her husband and pre-schooler, it was to our trusted and stylish partners Mr & Mrs Smith that she turned for inspiration.

Following a recommendation that Mauritius might tick all the boxes for this longed-for holiday before the arrival of baby number 2, Laura fell for the elegant beauty of Le Prince Maurice.

‘I immediately liked the look and feel of Constance Le Prince Maurice and despite it being a luxury hotel it felt approachable and authentic,’ said Laura.

Mauritius is easy to get to from the UK and France with direct flights, or swift connections via Dubai, and there’s little jet-lag to boot. While discreet and intimate in mood, Le Prince Maurice is eminently family friendly and has earned itself the Smith & Family seal of approval.

“There are 64 Junior Suites, 12 Family Suites and 12 Villas and the hotel is set up in what I can only describe as a vast park by the beach. There are two pools, a Spa, three restaurants, a private beach, Kid’s club, tennis courts and a golf driving range, yet despite this the hotel feels incredibly intimate. There’s a calm and discreet feeling in the air at all times… it really was like heaven on earth!”

From Le Prince Maurice you can explore the island or simply hunker down for a few days and immerse yourself in this haven that’s set on a quiet spot along the east coast, sheltered from the winds by the lagoon and positioning of the hotel and beach.

There’s a huge choice of restaurants and food to suit your needs and tastes, and staff who are warm, welcoming and on hand to make sure every detail of your holiday is the way you want it.
