Which Constance Hotel to Choose: Discover your luxury

Reading Time: 4 minutes

When you’re looking for an exotic location for your holiday, there are a few factors you’ll be contemplating before you take the plunge.

How far you want to travel, whether you’re looking for somewhere remote or more easily accessible, flight times and then, of course, the options for where to stay.

At Constance, each of our seven hotels and resorts offer an incredible experience with the same Constance exceptional quality at each one.

But with four quite different locations across the Indian Ocean – Maldives, Madagascar, Mauritius and Seychelles – each hotel tells its own story, and we’ve noticed that our guests find their favourite and become passionate about which one wins a spot on their all-time favourites list.

Review sites like TripAdvisor are a great go-to when you want to get an impartial opinion, with the look and feel of a place playing a big part, especially if you’ve not been to the destination before.

To help you navigate the choice, here’s a whistle stop tour of what’s on offer at each of our award-winning hotels and resorts to help you decide – which one are you?

Constance Belle Mare Plage, Mauritius

Popular lifestyle resort with a relaxed feel on the East coast of Mauritius, favoured by families (with younger children and teens), golfers, honeymooners and couples looking for a destination wedding.  Our first ever resort, Belle Mare Plage has become a firm favourite for many that return year after year. There’s a long stretch of beach, choice of restaurants from buffet to fine dining, main bar, swimming pools, water sports, wide choice of accommodation including suites and villas, complimentary kids club and access to 2 championship golf courses.

Constance Le Prince Maurice, Mauritius

Intimate and secluded smaller hotel, Le Prince Maurice oozes elegance, luxury and most of all romance. The stunning architectural design includes a spectacular lobby with views across the infinity pool to the ocean beyond. Set in vast grounds the hotel never feels busy, even when it’s at full capacity. There’s a choice of suites and villas, including the villas on stilts perched over the nature reserve on the edge of the hotel. Three restaurants, three bars, two pools including the lap pool, sought-after spa and access to championship golf courses. Once discovered, you’ll be hard pushed to get Le Prince Maurice out of your system.

Constance Ephélia, Seychelles

Set on two beaches on the main island of Mahe, overlooking Port Launay nature reserve, Ephélia is a larger resort set amidst 120 hectares of lush tropical landscape. It offers a huge choice of activities including water sports, zip lining, climbing wall, cycling, tennis and the spa village is a big draw for tired bodies and minds. Choice extends to the accommodation (including suites, family, beachside and hillside villas), 5 restaurants, 5 bars. Popular with families, spa-lovers, wedding and honeymooners.

Constance Lémuria, Seychelles

This secluded romantic hideaway on Praslin Island, a short flight from Mahe, is one of the most luxurious hotels in the Seychelles. Elegant and refined, the unspoilt landscape is one of its stand-out features with beaches that seem out of this world – Anse Georgette is regularly voted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Golf lovers can play on the 18-hole championship course, the only one in the Seychelles, where the 15th affords breathtaking views across to the ocean. Lémuria has also become a favoured nesting site for endangered Hawksbill and Green Turtles, and our very own Turtle Manager works tirelessly to conserve the environment and guests can enjoy watching the baby turtles take their first steps to the ocean when they hatch in February each year.

Constance Moofushi, Maldives

Barefoot Robinson Crusoe chic, the fact Moofushi is booked out months in advance speaks for itself. Something of a unique offering in the Maldives, Moofushi tends to hold its place in the hearts of those who visit. The sign as you arrive – no news, no shoes – sets the tone for this stylish resort. The very popular Cristal all-inclusive package means that once you’re there you don’t have to worry about anything. Accommodation is in either beach villas or water villas. The resort also has one of the best house reefs in the Maldives. Popular for weddings, honeymoons, get-away-from-it-all couples and people looking for an exceptional dive experience.

Constance Halaveli, Maldives

Exceptionally high standard of luxury, Halaveli is situated in the North Ari Atoll and offers the archetypal dream of the Maldives. The water villas are the most private in the Maldives, each with their own plunge pool with uninterrupted views out to the horizon. Families mostly choose to stay at the vast family villas, making this a popular choice with those who have older as well as younger children. Gastronomy is high on the list of experiences here, with Chef Jordi Villa  (previously of El Bulli) at the helm. The spa is a must-do as is simply relaxing with a cool drink as the sunsets and just letting the beauty of the place wash over you.

Constance Tsarabanjina, Madagascar

The remote private island of Tsarabanjina is one of the best-kept secrets in the world of luxury travel. It appeals to people who want to discover something new and explore a bit further afield without compromising on comfort and style. This tiny island with 25 beach villas offers an escape from the world, with exceptional diving in near-virgin waters, outdoor spa, whale watching in season and mind-blowing stargazing. According to Facebook, for many Constance fans, this is the one they dream of going to ‘one day’.
