Dr Chase Webber

In the first of our articles, Chase gives you some insight into his vision, and what you can expect from your Constance spa experience over the coming months.

Hi I am Dr Chase Webber ND, the Corporate Spa Manager. I qualified as a Naturopathic Doctor in 1996 and have been involved in the field of natural medicine, wellness and spa since 1990 where I started my internship in one of the original health spas called The Hydro in Cape Town, South Africa.

In the early 1990s the only spa or “hydros” were a type of retreat where you went for 1 week, were placed on a juice fast, received a daily Swedish massage and hydrotherapy. Hotels at that time had at most a swimming pool and a tennis court. At that time I dreamt of a day that we could combine a wonderful vacation destination and at the same time improve our wellbeing through the natural therapeutic methods we used in the hydro.

Spa holidays in the 21st century

Over the last 20 years the hotel industry has slowly developed in this direction with more and more interested in providing a real spa facility and services for their guests while on vacation.

During these years I became more involved as a consultant for many hotel groups to bring my knowledge in creating more authentic spa environments, treatments, products and services. Some of the major hospitality groups I have worked with over the years include One&Only, Kempinski Hotels, Veranda Hospitality & Leisure and now with Constance Hotels & Resorts.

Kick-starting change on holiday

I am always inspired to bring a sense of fusion to the hotel environment where during your holiday, the perfect environment and time can be used to naturally improve health and wellbeing. In my opinion a holiday is the perfect time to allow the body to naturally find its balance, heal internally and recharge in energy to become prepared for another bout of the modern life. It is always my objective to provide options for each guest to find what they need to embrace this natural need for rest and recovery.

My vision for Constance

My vision for Constance Hotels & Resorts is to update the spa treatments, services, product offerings and experience to provide a more authentic wellbeing effect whilst at the same time feeling completely easy and fun. I aim to provide experiences in our spas that are deeply therapeutic yet are simple and enjoyable.

We all want life and our experiences to feel enjoyable, light, easy and inspirational – I believe wellbeing can be the same, we can achieve health and vitality whilst having fun and enjoying every minute in a beautiful environment.

This will be the future for Constance Hotels & Resorts spa’s: inspiring experiences so enjoyable and yet so beneficial that during your vacation you feel your wellbeing blossom – a feeling of Joie de vivre returns naturally.

What to look for in a ‘babymoon’

The babymoon is an opportunity for a last hurrah of sumptuous, grown-up living before you enter the exciting world of life with a baby. In other words it can be a time to indulge in the finer things – a luxury beach resort, spa treatments, romantic moments, and divine dining.

With locations across the Indian Ocean, Constance Hotels & Resorts are proving a popular choice for a secluded 5* getaway for just the two of you. With our emphasis on warm, attentive service we ensure that your last trip away pre-parenthood will create memories that last a lifetime, and many a baby-induced sleepless night.

Make it a romantic break for two

Savour your time together in the romantic getaway resorts of Moofushi and Tsarabanjina. Relax in the laidback vibe of these barefoot resorts where secluded hammocks swing outside your villa and it’s easy to find a quiet spot to spend time alone together.

Lounge on the beach watching movies under the stars and eating food fresh from the ocean.

Or splash out and enjoy the ultimate luxury of a beachfront villa with your own private pool at Le Prince Maurice or a water villa floating over a lagoon with its own infinity pool at Halaveli.

If you’re looking for total romantic seclusion why not try a hillside villa at Ephelia, where you can lounge in your own infinity pool overlooking glorious views of the Seychelles.

Indulge in 5* luxury

It can be difficult to get a good night’s sleep when you’re pregnant but at Constance we will do our best to ensure that’s exactly what you get.

At Le Prince Maurice and Halaveli we will draw you a fragrant candlelit bath for you to relax in before climbing between Egyptian cotton sheets, in vast beds. Select the perfect pillow from our menu. If getting comfortable is an issue just let us know and we’ll provide as many pillows as you need to get a good night’s sleep.

Service has always been at the centre of what we do at Constance so whatever you’re needs, or cravings, we’ll do our best to make sure you have everything you need for a perfect holiday.

Delicious, healthy food

Eating for two means making sure that what you eat is fresh and healthy for you and your baby. At Constance the 5* chefs use only the best, fresh local ingredients to create sumptuous dishes across all our restaurants.

Whether you want to indulge in elegant fine dining or just feel like a smoothie and salad by the beach, you can be sure that everything is prepared with the utmost care from the very best fresh ingredients.

For a truly memorable dining experience we can even organise dinner on a secluded section of beach or under the stars in your own villa. At Moofushi you can dine by torchlight on your own secluded sandbank.
