FT singles out Le Prince Maurice

Maria Shollenbarger of The Financial Times has given Constance Le Prince Maurice a glowing review describing it as, ‘one of the island’s best-established luxury retreats’.

In her article for the FT’s How to Spend It section, Shollenbarger believes that Mauritius is re-emerging into the spotlight as a luxury Indian Ocean destination for discerning travellers.

Compared to other luxury hotels in the Maldives she says that, ‘Le Prince Maurice holds an ace in its pocket in the form of exceptional tranquillity: its private bay and narrow, smooth and eminently swimmable beach are protected by a natural land protrusion at its southern end.’

I’ve been working at Le Prince Maurice for five months now and it brings me great pleasure. Teaching my classes here brings me a feeling of real happiness.

Here’s some more about the training I offer guests visiting the resort. Each week I hold:

  • Hatha and Ashtanga yoga classes on the beach
  • Aquagym in the lap pool
  • Tone up, stretching, special abs and glutes classes
  • Zumba circuit training

All of these programs are good for both health and body shape with some guests saying they feel like they’ve visited a health camp during their time with us.

Don’t worry about your fitness levels or your previous experience because I adapt my classes to suit everyone from the beginner to those much more experienced.

Yoga at Le Prince Maurice

During my yoga class we practice breath control and asanas (posture) which improves strength and flexibility. Then the restorative aspect of the session is a delightful way of giving prizes to our muscles after a hard workout. You will learn relaxing postures you can do every day wherever you are.

Toning classes and personal training

My tone-up classes will really help work every muscle in your body. Together we will tone-up abs, glutes, arms, back and legs, stretching them to sculpt a beautifully balanced body. I will even show you a routine you can do at home to carry on the good work.
I also offer personal one-to-one training to work specifically the areas your body needs. Sessions can be carried out in the fitness centre, in your room or even on the beach.

I look forward to seeing you soon for your stay at Le Prince Maurice, a place for well being and health.

Isabelle.

Top tips for well being in 2013

One of our leading fitness gurus at Le Prince Maurice, Isabelle Lamant, offers her top tips for well being in 2013.

Yoga on the beach with Isabelle Lamant

Her ever-increasingly popular fitness classes have earned Isabelle a loyal following among Constance guests. Many are returning from their holiday saying they’ve never felt better.

Here are Isabelle’s top tips for 2013:

1. Lie down on your back, hands under your head. Inhale 8 seconds with the nose, expanding your ribs and blowing out your stomach. Hold your breath for 5 seconds then exhale naturally. Do this 3 times to relax all the body and the brain.

2. Ask your self ‘What do I actually wish to change or improve on my body?’ Visualize mentally your ideal appearence and the way of living you would like for your wellness.

3. Stretch your arms, stretch your legs, turn on your right side then stand up.

4. Now that you know what you want for your well-being, put on your running shoes or your swimming costume and go out for one hour. Just go out and walk or swim to detox your body and your brain.

5. When you come back home, you’ll feel real satisfaction because you have taken care of yourself. That is the best tip I can give to you: think of yourself first so you have the best energy to give to others.

6. Stretch with fluent movement to allow your joints to relax. You can easily find different postures

7. I advise you to move your body 3 times per week for 1 hour each time. Choose the activity you prefer: aquagym, dance, running, walking, swimming… Stretch every day for 10 minutes, this is good for your joints and your muscles.
