Vintage Lifestyle magazine describes Ephélia as a ‘slice of heaven’

South African magazine Vintage Lifestyle has described Constance Ephélia as the ‘crème de la crème of Seychellois island style and hospitality’.

Constance Ephelia, Seychelles

On a recent visit to the resort the magazine describes the Seychelles as an idyllic holiday destination and Ephélia as the perfect place to stay.

5 star luxury in Seychelles

‘We stayed at the breathtakingly beautiful 5 star Constance Ephélia Resort on the island of Mahé. Here we enjoyed swimming in our private pool at our private villa where all you can hear are birds singing, the rustling of leaves in the coconut palms and small waves washing onto the North Beach just a few steps away.’

The magazine team was amazed by the number of activities on offer at the resort and tried their hands at everything from rock climbing and zip lining to trail hiking and spa treatments. They even took time out to feed the resort’s 110-year-old tortoise, Dusty.

Other highlights outlined by the magazine were the tantalising, 5 star food served at the resort’s five restaurants and the friendliness of all the hotel staff. ‘The staff are like a family at Constance Ephélia Resort, even though there are 800 of them!’

Some of the world’s most endangered creatures, the Hawksbill and Green turtles, are offered protection at Lémuria. We have our own Turtle Manager who runs our turtle preservation programme, alongside the Marine Conservation Society Seychelles, and we are always happy to let guests watch or help out. In March 2013, over 250 baby turtles were released into the water following another successful turtle-nesting season at Lémuria.

Coming home to nest – Turtle Watch Lémuria

At Constance Lémuria there is more to celebrate this month than Christmas, for December is the peak of the turtle-nesting season.

The endangered hawksbill and green turtles return year after year to our quiet, idyllic beaches on the island of Praslin in the Seychelles between October and February. This season our Turtle Manager has already had four nests of turtles hatching out.

Each female turtle can lay up to a thousand eggs a season, returning to the beach to lay as many as five times and laying up to 200 eggs at a time.

Monitoring turtle activity

At Lémuria we monitor each nest and each turtle to ensure their safety. We will continue to watch the nests for the next two months until all the eggs have hatched.

Under the supervision of our Turtle Manager, guests at Lémuria can have the unique experience of watching the females come up on the beach to lay and later see the baby turtles move down to the sea.

Our Turtle Preservation Programme, run alongside the Marine Conservation Society Seychelles and with support from the local community and hotel guests, is crucial to the survival of these beautiful creatures. Ask at the resort to find out more about our nesting turtles.

Nestled on the white sand of Petit Anse Kerlan with the turquoise ocean lapping at the shore, Takamaka is named after the lush Takamaka trees which offer this secluded spot their shade. A perfect place to watch the sun go down as you enjoy good food amongst friends.

Nicolas Rossignol and a representative of the Gonet-Médeville vineyard will join guests at Ephelia on the 25-27 December to introduce them to some of their famous wines and champagnes. A menu has been specifically designed to compliment the famous French wines and to create a dining event not to be missed.

Gonet-Médeville has also stayed true to traditional growing methods in the creation of its grand cru and premier cru champagne.

Come and taste the best of the wines they have to offer at Ephélia this Christmas.
