We are extremely proud that Constance Ephélia has won the award for best Beach Hotel at this year’s International Hotel & Property Awards.
Constance Ephélia, winner of best Beach Hotel at the International Hotel & Property Awards
The prestigious design awards, hosted by UK design magazine ‘design et al’, recognise innovative luxury design and creative interior and architectural thinking.
This award is especially important to us because it is not only voted for by design industry insiders and ‘design et al’ readers, but by you, the guests who have experienced the resort and its creative design in person.
Constance CEO, Jean-Jacques Vallet, congratulated the resort architect Jean Marc Eynaud and said, ‘It is in line with our business concept of offering our guests elegant properties located in extraordinary sites and unique in their natural beauty. Properties that are sensitive to their surroundings, using designs in wood, stone and marble to blend smoothly with the local environment.’
Mauritian architect Jean Marc Eynaud, who also designed Constance Le Prince Maurice, Constance Lémuria and Constance Belle Mare Plage, specialises in tropical contemporary architecture which works in harmony with its environment.
The rare Coco de Mer is found at Vallee de Mai on Praslin Island in the Seychelles
The sights and sounds of the Seychelles come alive in Matthew Coe’s article for A Luxury Travel Blog.
Highlights of the stunning Indian Ocean archipelago described by Coe include the iconic Coco de Mer. He suggests visiting UNESCO World Heritage site Valle de Mai on Praslin to see the unusual palm seed in its natural surroundings.

A dhoni shaped structure for the coral growth project
We at Constance Halaveli are excited to be moving into the second phase of our coral growth program, following the completion of the successful first phase.
So far, in partnership with Valmont and Water Solutions, we have planted more than 250 coral fragments in two locations in the lagoon and are thrilled to report they are thriving.
For the second phase of the project a structure shaped like a traditional dhoni boat will be planted with coral and submerged to attract marine life to an area in the lagoon which is currently without coral.
Once the project is completed these new areas of coral reef will attract new marine life and will become a major attraction for snorkellers. In the meantime we hope to get guests involved in the project so that they can learn more about the beautiful coral reefs we are growing here.
