Top 5 beaches in the Seychelles

Many of the world’s most beautiful beaches are located on the islands of the Seychelles archipelago. Here we select 5 of our favourites.

Anse Georgette, Constance Lemuria, Seychelles

Anse Georgette, Constance Lemuria

1. Anse Georgette

We’re not just picking Anse Georgette because it happens to be the beach that our exclusive Lémuria hotel is nestled on. It was also voted number 1 beach destination by Trip Advisor this year, along with the island of Praslin where it’s located. The beautiful seclusion of this beach, a perfect white-sand cove sheltered by rocks teeming with sealife, make it one of those special places that will linger in your memory for years to come. Read more on Trip Advisor.

2. Anse Source d’Argent

A short boat-ride from Praslin is the stunning, tranquil island of La Digue where beautiful beaches are everywhere you turn. But probably the best of them all is Anse Source d’Argent, voted the second best beach in the world in CNN’s recent World’s 50 Best Beaches. CNN claims the salt-white and flamingo-pink sands and stunning reefs made it a major contender for the top spot. Read more on Travel CNN.

Port Launay, Seychelles

3. Port Launay

One of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Mahé, Port Launay is situated on the north-west side of the island ensuring calm, tranquil waters perfect for swimming. Constance Ephelia looks out across Port Launay Marine Reserve.

4. Anse Beau Vallon
Set in the north-west of Mahé Beau Vallon has stunning views across crystal waters to Silhouette and North Island. It is a perfect example of what you would expect from a Seychelles’ beach. A seemingly endless stunning white-sand beach offering you the chance to find your own secluded spot away from local restaurants and bars.

5. Anse Major
Accessible only by foot or boat this beautifully secluded beach on the island of Mahé is a haven of white sand and calm turquoise waters. Sheltered by granite it offers privacy and tranquillity as well as some amazing snorkelling opportunities.
Find out why Gareth Huw Davies rated Anse Major one of the best in the Seychelles in The Daily Mail.

Family fun in the Seychelles this Easter

What better way to forget about the short, cold days of winter than to plan an Easter getaway to the island idyll of the Seychelles. Here are our top 5 reasons to visit.

Constance Lemuria, Seychelles

1. Weather
Lie on a beach and drink in the vitamin D your body’s been craving through the long winter months. April is the perfect time to visit the Seychelles as it marks the end of the islands’ rainy season ensuring perfect temperatures of around 29ºC. Revel in lots of warm sunshine while calm breezes gently rustle the palm trees.

2. Beaches
The Seychelles is home to some of the most stunning beaches in the world. At Constance Lémuria, you’ll have access to the eye-wateringly beautiful Anse Lazio, frequently cited as the most beautiful beach in the Seychelles. Unspoilt, pristine beaches lapped by warm turquoise water.

3. Family
Relax in the knowledge that your kids will love a holiday in the Seychelles as much as you. Whether you choose the elegant luxury of Constance Lémuria or the vibrant spirit of the larger Constance Ephélia there is plenty for everyone to do. Older kids will be thrilled by the choice of sports and water sports available and younger kids will love the free children’s club.

4. Diving
Explore the Indian Ocean in perfect conditions in April. As the waters calm after the rainy season divers can fully appreciate the vivid, colourful spectacle of the numerous dive sites around Lémuria and Ephélia. Water temperatures average around 29ºC at this time of year and visibility is often 30 meters or more. If you’re looking for something a bit different, try a thrilling night dive.

5. Fishing
Feel the rush of excitement and adrenalin of pursuing one of the great game fish through the crystal waters of the Seychelles. The deep-sea fishing season starts in April and runs through to October. Pit your wits and your strength against giants of the sea including tuna, barracuda, wahoo, sailfish and marlin.

And lastly… as recommended by The Sunday Times

The Sunday Times recommends Constance Ephélia as the perfect spot for Easter with the family this week. In the article, journalist Jeremy Lazell writes: ‘Ephelia sits in 300 acres of tropical gardens… with tennis, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking and a kids’ club free, four swimming pools and two white sand, palm fringed beaches that are worth the air fare alone.’

Rave reviews for Constance Hotels and Resorts in the Seychelles

South African blogger and Johannesburg Sunday Independent columnist, Hasmita Nair has described her holiday to Constance’s Seychelles resorts as ‘the best I’ve ever been on’.

This month she’s been raving to her readers about the friendly welcome and elegant luxury she experienced at Constance Lémuria and Constance Ephélia.

‘I’ve been fortunate enough to experience a few Indian Ocean islands. I’ve been to Zanzibar, Mozambique and Mauritius (twice!)… I stayed in 5 star properties on all the above islands, but both the setting and service of all these don’t even come close to what I experienced at Constance.’

Gonet-Médeville has also stayed true to traditional growing methods in the creation of its grand cru and premier cru champagne.
