One of the things that makes the Constance Hotels Experience so special are the people who work there. So often the staff at Constance receive a special mention in the customer reviews we get on TripAdvisor, or in feedback sent by guests.

At Constance, we put a lot of time into training. Our Constance Hotels Training Academy, based in Mauritius is the hub for all staff training. Over the last 13 years, we’ve become a leader in the hospitality training sector.

Many of our staff come through our apprenticeship scheme, and have worked with us for over 10 years.

All this helps to make the Constance Hotels Experience so unique. When you stay at a Constance hotel, the staff very quickly come to know what you like, which makes you feel you’re being personally looked after.

Our hands and nails quickly show signs of ageing if we don’t take care of them. Hands lack fat and sebum, which makes them very sensitive to external factors including water, chemicals, sun and cold weather.

After your face, people tend to notice your hands. Get them back in top condition with these simple tips from Sophie Demaret, Spa Manager at Constance Le Prince Maurice in Mauritius.

 1. Hand massage and moisturise

Use a neutral Ph soap. Dry your hands carefully and apply a moisturiser. The best way to do this is to gently massage your fingers and thumb, and then the palm of your hand. Don’t forget to relax!

2. Reinvigorating warm oil bath

If your hands are very dry or damaged, give them a treat with a warm argan oil or olive oil bath.

Model and author Sophie Dahl is a fan of argan oil – the latest beauty must-have, found in South western Morocco. Argan oil is rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants. It also contains eight essential fatty acids and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Gently warm the oil and place in a deep bowl. Rest your hands in the oil bath for at least 10 minutes. Then pat them dry with a soft towel.

3. Cellophane wrap

If your hands need some super-deluxe treatment, wrap them in cellophane after the warm oil bath and rest for a further 15-20 minutes. You’ll be amazed at the results.

We’ll be posting regular spa, beauty and health tips here so watch this space.
