Golf legends head to Mauritius this December

There is an air of expectancy in the clubhouses and on the greens of the golf courses of Constance Belle Mare Plage this week as final preparations are put into place for the forthcoming MCB Tour Championship.

Recently awarded the accolade of Indian Ocean’s Best Golf Hotel by the World Golf Awards, the final stage of the European Senior Tour will be held at Belle Mare Plage from 8–14 December.

The resort’s challenging Legends course is set beside one of Mauritius’ most beautiful beaches, running through lush indigenous forest, and will test the metal of golfers including Colin Montgomerie, Paul Wesselingh and Peter Fowler.

World-class golf destination

This year’s MCB event marks the 20th anniversary for Belle Mare Plage in hosting an Open professional golf tournament, a record which has helped Mauritius stake out its place as a world-class golf destination.

Excitement is running high about this year’s event as not only is Colin Montgomerie guaranteed to round off a blistering season by claiming the Jacobs Trophy for Order of Merit but for the first time a native Mauritian will be competing in the MCB.
