Explaining what made Constance special within the luxury hotel sector, Andrew said it was the group’s emphasis on personal service.

‘Each individual guest becomes special the moment he steps into one of our hotels. We create experiences that live long after the guests have left our resorts.’

An example of this he said was the number of couples who discover Constance as a wedding or honeymoon destination and then return year after year ‘and become friends’.

Andrew describes how one of the things that makes Constance stand out in the Indian Ocean hotel market is that while each hotel has the signature ‘Constance Hotel’s feel’, each also had a ‘sense of place’ based around the local culture and people at each island location.

During the interview Andrew outlined how far Constance has come from its origins back in the 70s as the owner of a small hotel in Mauritius. Today the group owns seven luxury hotels and resorts across Mauritius, Seychelles, Maldives and Madagascar. But he stressed that Constance is not resting on its laurels and continues to innovate.

‘We have recently launched “£Constance Kids Club, inspired by fun” upping the stakes in the luxury family holiday sector.’

Another area that is constantly growing and developing is what Andrew describes as the ‘Culinary Spirit’ of Constance.

‘We host the Bernard Loiseau Culinary Food Festival yearly attracting Michelin chefs from around the world and our Sommelier team in each resort offers the largest wine lists in the Indian Ocean.’

‘We pride ourselves on serving beautifully presented and delicious cuisine accompanied by the world’s great wines.’
