Top blogger Jozilicious gives Le Prince Maurice a rave review

South African blogger, Jozilicious visited Le Prince Maurice for a long weekend and was blown away by the luxurious accommodation, 5* service and a sumptuous fish curry.

5* service at Constance Le Prince Maurice

Jozilicious can’t get enough of Constance. Having visited Ephélia and Lémuria already she was keen to visit Le Prince Maurice, and was certainly not disappointed.

‘The thing I realised after staying at Le Prince Maurice is that it wasn’t Seychelles we loved, it was Constance. The values embodied by this brand are carried through in all the resorts and the experience is just far superior to most other hotel brands. The staff are among the most hospitable I’ve ever come across in all my travels.’

From being met at the airport by a private X5 to the pillow menu in her room to the willingness of the restaurant staff to prepare her favourite dish which was not on the menu, Jozilicious was wowed by the level of service.

She claimed staff at the hotel, ‘love what they do and really care about making your stay comfortable for you – whether this means arranging a packed breakfast for you to eat en route to an early morning flight, or cooking your favourite meal at dinner. They realise that people are individuals and have different needs and nothing is ever too much to ask of them.’

Preeti Verma Lal claimed that the sumptuous vegetable samosas, halwa and dholl puri at Archipel restaurant and the homemade braised chilli balls with eggplant, basmati rice and parantha at La Barchois restaurant made her feel right at home.

‘Everything is oh so Indian but with a Mauritian twist,’ Verma Lal describes.

The reviewer says she felt a similar warm sense of familiarity at the luxurious Spa de Constance where she enjoyed the Prince Ayurvedic treatments.

The Eastern influences continued with the fitness guru and personal trainer at Le Prince Maurice, Isabelle Lamant who taught Vinyasa Yoga.

But it was the friendliness of the staff at Le Prince Maurice which Verma Lal claimed made her feel most at home.

The festival pairs European Michelin-starred chefs with the best island cooks from across the Constance group in a week long competition.

The festival promotes an open sharing of ideas and culinary inspiration and techniques between the acclaimed chefs and their island counterparts.

Using only fresh local produce, sourced by the teams at the vibrant Mauritian market in Port Louis, each team must come up with an exciting, creative menu. This menu is then prepared by the island chefs on the final day and judged by a panel of leading culinary professionals.

The festival, a partnership between Constance Hotels & Resorts and the Relais Bernard Loiseau, was launched in 2006 to commemorate the chef Bernard Loiseau.

Guests at Belle Mare Plage and Le Prince Maurice during the festival can look forward to a week of sumptuous meals prepared by the visiting chefs, demonstrations and a celebratory awards dinner.

Despite a determined battle from former Ryder Cup Captain and designer of the Fairmont course, Torrance, Luna finished on five under par taking the victory by only one stroke.

The win marks a dramatic return to St Andrews for Luna who famously beat Tiger Woods on the same course in the Alfred Dunhill Cup back in 1998 to put Spain through to the final.

For Torrance the SSE Scottish Senior Open marks his first top five finish since the MCB Tour Championship, held at Constance Belle Mare Plage in Mauritius, in 2011.
