Best dives in the Maldives

Constance Moofushi is perfect for diving

With its reputation as one of the best dive destinations in the world, the Maldives is at the top of the bucket list for avid divers and new-comers to the sport who want their early experience of diving to be exceptional.

With two hotels in the Maldives – in the North and South Ari Atoll – Constance Halaveli and Constance Moofushi have become havens for dive enthusiasts wanting to combine a luxury holiday with a great choice of dives.

Here’s a selection of some of the dive experiences you can enjoy with us, and a top tips for when to travel and what to expect.

Visibility

Clear water good for dives in the Maldives

It’s a let down if you want to dive in crystal clear waters only to find the water is murky, churned up, or the reef is in poor condition. Visibility in the Maldives is excellent, usually between 20-25 metres. There’s also little current to worry about.

When to go

You can see Manta Rays on dives in the Maldives

Clearest conditions are generally May to October when the currents come from the southwest, making the water very clear.

If you’re keen on seeing whale sharks and manta rays, November to April is a good time to visit as the northeast monsoon pushes currents out to the west.
